Dr. Walter is a Board-Certified Dermatologist and Micrographic Dermatologic Surgeon. She is fellowship-trained in Mohs micrographic and reconstructive surgery, cutaneous oncology, and laser and cosmetic surgery. She is the co-founder and Medical Director of Dermatology & Skin Surgery Specialists.
Dr. Walter grew up in California. She attended Harvard College and earned her bachelor’s degree, graduating cum laude. She then proceeded to the University of Southern California, where she earned her Doctor of Medicine. During medical school, she was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society and Beta Gamma Sigma Business Honor Society. She completed her graduate work with “Highest Distinction”. She stayed in Los Angeles to complete an internship in internal medicine at UCLA’s Cedar Sinai Medical Center. She then migrated to Chicago to complete her dermatology residency at Northwestern University.
Post residency, Dr. Walter went on to complete a highly sought after Mohs surgery and cosmetic fellowship with Dr. C. William Hanke, in Carmel, Indiana. During her fellowship year, she participated in more than 2000 skin cancer surgeries and cosmetic procedures. Dr. Walter is an expertly trained clinician in skin cancer removal, Mohs Micrographic Surgical, facial reconstruction, cosmetic procedures, botulinum toxin injections, fillers, and other related subjects. Since founding Dermatology & Skin Surgery Specialists, she has completed over 10,000 surgical cases.
Dr. Walter has published multiple book chapters, journal articles and spoken at national conferences. Dr. Walter is a fellow of the American College of Mohs Surgery and American Academy of Dermatology and a member of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery.
Dr. Walter moved to Scottsdale in July of 2014 to be closer to family. Dr. Walter is a pilates addict, enjoys cooking, wine tasting, traveling and spending time with her daughter.
